Wellbeing

Staff Health and Wellbeing is an area that the Trust takes incredibly seriously and aim to provide services to support colleagues as widely as possible.

There are many wellbeing schemes implemented at the trust. For a list of all those schemes that are available to you in the Trust, please see below:

Schwartz Rounds

These events allow staff the opportunity to participate in discussions to explore an agreed topic and how this may impact on their situation at work. Each round creates a safe space to reflect, share and analyse different areas of work and how these affect your psychological wellbeing. The aim of the meeting is not to problem solve or produce action plans, it is simply a time for discussion and sharing.

Peer to Peer (P2P)

Introduced in 2016, P2P is a listening service for staff, enabling staff to share and get support from colleagues in a confidential environment, whether it’s work related or something else. There are a number of ‘listeners’ around the Trust who can be identified by their green P2P badge (pictured below) who have been trained in listening skills but are not acting as counsellors.

Please feel free to stop them in the corridor for a chat any time, or to arrange a time and time that would be convenient in the near future. Alternatively you can email p2p@mkuh.nhs.uk or ring ext 86061 and speak to Sarah Crane to arrange to see someone.

Take 5

This scheme allows you the opportunity to take a five minute break in a quiet space to collect your thoughts. This will be in the chapel and is available at any time for any member of staff to take a breather without interruption. Where possible, please ensure you notify your line manager if you are temporarily leaving the department.
